Have you heard this bird? 🪶🪶 Well, now you have! Northern flicker calls vary from the short, sharp, "kleer!" to something that sounds like a repetitive laugh, "ki ki ki ki!" (at least, that's what it sounds like to us). These birds are commonly seen (and heard) in Zion through the fall and winter. Pictured here is a male western red-shafted flicker, recognizable by its bright "mustache". Both males and females have a polka-dot body, black collar, and stylish tail-feathers, but only the males h
