What was once the site of the Trustees’ Garden is now the ambient Washington Square. Visitors can sit and sip wine or take a stroll through Washington Square with their pup. Surrounding the square are beautiful historic homes and buildings.

Jan 14, 2025 · Washington Square. Located at the eastern edge of downtown Savannah, Washington Square was named after George Washington. In 1791, Washington embarked on the Southern Tour – a grande adventure to thank everyone in the south for voting him as the United States’ first president.

Washington Square, in existence since 1790, is the city's northeastern most square, just a block from the original eastern border (East Broad Street) of Savannah. Surrounding it are charming residences and one hotel -- The Mulberry Inn, which sits on the northeast corner of the square.

Washington Square in Savannah, Georgia is one of the city's quieter squares. Located in the eastern side of the Historic District, it is near to some of the oldest surviving buildings in Savannah.

Washington Square, at the north end of Savannah's Historic District, is one of the more peaceful Squares in Savannah. It is a popular hangout with locals, and well worth the short walk that it takes to see it.

Washington Square is off the beaten tourist track of the historic district, adjacent to the elegant and modern Pacci Italian Kitchen, and just a couple of blocks from the historic Pirate's House restaurant. It's also just a few blocks from the Waving Girl statue.
