The US Open descended into chaos on Sunday when a photographer came onto the court as Daniil Medvedev faced match point, bringing the first-round match to a standstill and sparking a spectacular meltdown from the Russian.

Daniil Medvedev’s match was delayed more than six minutes between points Sunday night, after a photographer entered the court on match point and the 2021 U.S. Open champion became enraged by the chair umpire’s decision to award his opponent a first serve.

Daniil Medvedev is out of the US Open after a remarkable defeat by Benjamin Bonzi, where a photographer walking on to the court changed the course of the match.

The US Open was disrupted on Sunday when a photographer stepped onto the court as Daniil Medvedev faced match point, halting play for about six minutes. Spectators booed umpire Greg Allensworth’s decision to return Benjamin Bonzi to his first serve.

The photographer's interruption prompted chair umpire Greg Allensworth to restart the point, igniting Medvedev's fury. "Are you a man? Why are you shaking?" the Russian shouted as he approached the umpire.
