Sporting News on MSNMLB writer reveals Detroit Tigers 'Red Flag'
In a recent article by Bleacher Report, MLB writer Zachary Rymer names a 'red flag' for each MLB team, and his analysis of the Detroit Tigers is that their starting rotation has gone wonky:
Offense continued to pile on as Valdez threw a pair of wild pitches that scored runners and Dillon Dingler brought Riley Greene home off a triple to center field. By the time Valdez found his third out, the Tigers were out to a 6-0 lead that would already be enough to secure the win.
Dillon Dingler tripled in a six-run first inning and the Detroit Tigers finished a sweep of the Houston Astros with a 7-2 win.
The Tigers hammered Houston for six runs in the first inning to set up a 7-2 victory and a series sweep of the AL West leaders.
After Riley Greene blasted his 29th homer against the Astros Monday, he gave a hearty group hug to the three Tigers hitting coaches.
Over at ESPN (subscription required), Kiley McDaniel released his newest top 100 prospect rankings. The future Tigers star is now ranked No. 2. Only 2024 first-round pick Konnor Griffin, another shortstop of the Pittsburgh Pirates, is ahead of him. They are going to battle it out for the No. 1 spot with both making a very strong case.
After he joined the Tigers from the Orioles at the Trade Deadline, Charlie Morton made a late-season acquisition of his own: The 41-year-old endeared himself to his new teammates by adding an espresso machine to the Tigers' clubhouse.
