This month, Trump threatened 200% tariffs on imported medicines. Last weekend, he agreed to a much lower 15% tariff on imported pharmaceuticals from the European Union.
Trump and EU chief Ursula von der Leyen made the deal in Scotland after many months of bargaining, but major details are still pending.
German auto companies embraced greater clarity but warned that even the lower rate of tariffs agreed between Brussels and Washington would still hurt.
