Oregon Health & Science University on Thursday announced a $2 billion gift for cancer treatment from Nike co-founder Phil Knight and wife Penny Knight.

Nike co-founder Phil Knight and his wife, Penny, announced a $2 billion gift to Oregon Health & Science University’s Knight Cancer Institute. It is the largest single donation to a university in the United States.

Oregon Health & Science University said the couple’s donation would be the largest single gift to a higher-learning institution in the United States.
