Sudden floods triggered by heavy rains have killed more than 200 people across parts of Pakistan, India-administered Kashmir and Nepal, authorities have said, as scores of people remain missing.

Rescue operations are ongoing, with landslides affecting nearby areas. The district administration is monitoring water levels and advising residents to stay away from water bodies due to heavy rains and potential flooding.

Seven members of four families, including five children, lost their lives in two separate incidents of cloudburst and landslide in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir early on Sunday, officials said.

A cloudburst has reportedly occurred in the forest area of Warnow in north Kashmir’s Lolab region. Initial reports suggest heavy water flow after rain in the area led to the incident. However, no loss of life or property has been reported so far.

Indian Railways (IR) has regulated the operations of several trains following a cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, disrupted services along the Jammu–Pathankot rail line.
