The eagerly awaited HBO series Lanterns, which is based on DC Comics' Green Lantern universe, has cast Jason Ritter in a recurring role.
Jason Ritter joins DC, HBO series 'Lanterns'
March 14 (UPI) -- Matlock actor Jason Ritter is slated to join HBO's upcoming Lanterns series inspired by the Green Lantern DC comic. He will portray Billy Macon who tries to cash in on his family's name as he carries out tasks for his father, several outlets report.

Ritter currently stars alongside Katky Bates in CBS’ Matlock and has a guest role in the forthcoming second season of Peacock’s Poker Face. His recent credits also include Netflix’s Raising Dion, Hulu’s miniseries Candy and voice work on Krapopolis and Gen V. He is repped by The Burstein Company and Gersh.

Lanterns has added Jason Ritter to the series in a role that may have ties to a major Green Lantern villain. According to Variety, the Matlock star will join former Deadwood actor Garret Dillahunt’s William Macon as his son Billy Macon.
