Pickett Fire in Napa County – 7% containment achieved

The wildfire has primarily moved east through sparsely populated territory last burned in 2020. No structures have been lost and containment stood at 7% late Friday.
Santa Rosa police are letting residents know that the smoke in the area is from the Pickett Fire burning in Calistoga in Napa County.
A heat advisory for the area is in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday. Temperatures in Calistoga are expected to reach a low of around 59 degrees Friday night and a high of near 91 degrees on Saturday, with 5 to 7 mph winds. The chances of dry lightning are low but "not zero," the weather service said in its forecast discussion.
A new wildfire was reported today at 10:13 a.m. in Napa County, California. Heitz Fire has been burning on private land. There is currently no information about the containment efforts for the fire and its cause has not yet been determined.
