Activision accidentally leaked an advertisement for Black Ops 7, confirming release date, mechanics, and more features ahead of the big Gamescom reveal.

More than 300,000 visitors are expected at this year's gaming extravaganza, flocking to try out blockbuster releases like Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and test new hardware such as the Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Handheld.

Weapons, operators, XP tokens, GobbleGums (Zombies), skins and other cosmetic items from last year’s game will be usable in Black Ops 7’s multiplayer, as well as Warzone. This will kick off a few weeks post launch, with the start of Season One.

Black Ops 7 fans think they’ve spotted a Black Ops 4 maps hidden in the marketing of this year’s Call of Duty.

Gamescom 2025 officially begins with the Opening Night Live show in the evening of August 19, 2025. The trade fair, held at the Koelnmesse exhibition center in Cologne, will then open its doors the following day on August 20, though only for trade visitors, members of the media, creators, and other specific ticket holders.
