A jury convicted Alexander Echeverria of the second-degree murder of his 8-month-old daughter Alexia Echeverria, the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office said.

A Sacramento Superior Court jury found Alexander Echeverria, 27, guilty of second-degree murder in the death of his 8-month-old daughter, Alexia.

Alexander Echeverria, 22, of Sacramento, is sought for questioning in the death of Alexia Rose Echeverria, whose body was found seated in her car seat beside a dumpster, according to investigators.

She wasn’t trash, she wasn’t a doll. She was my little girl,” Karla Alvarado, Alexia’s mom, said. 22-year-old Alexander Echeverria, her father, is currently a person of interest in the case.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department says it’s seeking Alexander Echeverria of South Sacramento in connection with the death of his 8-month-old daughter.
