The Thursday Murder Club has been released in cinemas this week with the film also soon-to-be dropped on Netflix.

Richard Osman said older generations are “ overlooked ” despite being “incredibly wise”. The TV presenter, 54, wrote the Thursday Murder Club series, which follows a group of retirees who spend time solving cold case homicides before they find themselves in their very own murder mystery.

The Thursday Murder Club is truly a star-studded affair, welcoming an abundance of familiar faces including Helen Mirren, David Tennant, Tom Ellis and Richard E Grant.

The Thursday Murder Club closely follows the plot of the first book, which made us all fall in love with the titular crime-solving pensioners: Elizabeth (Helen Mirren), Joyce (Celia Imrie), Ron (Pierce Brosnan) and Ibrahim (Ben Kingsley).
