Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team has provided an update following reports of a missing swimmer last seen in the Thornwick Bay area on Wednesday.

A dangerous driver has been jailed for 18 months for causing a head-on collision which left a woman in a coma for two and a half weeks and requiring a leg amputation.

Police say that this incident is not connected to the recent sudden deaths of a man and a woman below Whitby Abbey on July 30, 2025, or another woman found in the same area on July 31, 2025.
