Outlander star Sam Heughan has admitted that the cast were 'ready to move on' from the hit time-travel television series.

Gracing San Diego Comic Con on Saturday, July 26, the Scottish actor offered fans a glimpse into the final chapter of the beloved series and the forthcoming prequel, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which will introduce fresh faces.

Jamie Roy and Sam Heughan aren't related in real life, but the resemblance between the two Outlander stars is striking. So much so that it turns out Roy originally auditioned for the flagship series, only for producers to decide they needed to save him for Blood of my Blood, on which Roy now portrays Brian Fraser, the father of Heughan's Jamie.
