Tensions between South Asia’s rival nuclear-armed powers have been aboil since India’s far-right, US-backed government blamed Pakistan for a brutal April 23 terrorist attack in Indian-held Kashmir.

Pakistan's information minister Attaullah Tarar said on Wednesday that the country has credible intelligence that India intends to launch a military strike within the next 24 to 36 hours. This comes as tensions rise between the two nuclear-armed nations rise as India has said there were Pakistani elements to the attack that killed 26 men at a tourist spot in Indian Kashmir last week.

Pakistan is preparing international legal action over India's suspension of a key river water-sharing treaty, a government minister told Reuters, as tensions intensify between the neighbours following an attack on tourists in India-administered Kashmir.
