The front-seat passenger in a car died hours after the 90-year-old driver backed across a yard and struck a tree on Wednesday morning in Bridgewater, officials said. Karl Cochran, 61, was thrown from the vehicle when it crashed on private property at about 7:20 a.m., Bridgewater police said.

Three people were fatally shot outside a driver’s license office in Louisville, Ky., on Friday, and several people fled the scene in a vehicle, the police said.
