Trump doubled down this week on his vows to empty Gaza permanently of its more than 2 million Palestinians, saying they would not be allowed to return and suggesting at one point he might force Egypt and Jordan to take them in by threatening to cut off U.S. aid.

President Donald Trump on Sunday doubled down on a statement last week about "owning" the Gaza Strip, taking a step forward in an interview saying that Palestinians would have no right to return to their homes.

On Monday, Trump was asked by reporters whether he would consider withholding aid from Jordan and Egypt if they don’t agree to take in Palestinians from Gaza. He said he thinks Jordan and other countries will take in Palestinians. “They have good hearts,” he added.
