The planned closure of Bass Road for bridge reconstruction has been pushed back by one week, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).
The project will be the largest investment in the university's history, costing an estimated $75 million for the medical facility alone.
The money would help pay for public safety and infrastructure costs. Atlanta is hosting major sporting events, including the World Cup next year.
