Macworld According to the latest reports, the new M4 MacBook Air is due to arrive “within weeks” and for Apple, it may not be soon enough. It’s not that there’s anything wrong with the current M3 MacBook Air–it’s Apple’s best laptop.

Rumors have been swirling for months that Apple has new products on the way early in 2025, including an iPhone SE, M4 MacBook Air, new iPad Air and 10.9-inch iPad. Sources like Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman have claimed that they’re all either imminent or will be released in the coming weeks.

Right now, the M3 MacBook Air sits at the top of our best laptops list. We recommend it as the best laptop for most people, and that’s because of its strong price-to-performance ratio. The M4 MacBook Air may just be a refresh with little-to-no changes, but I don’t see it climbing to the top without an alluring price point.
