The Pickens County tornado is the first of 2025 in Alabama. Speaking of tornadoes, the weather service in Birmingham added a few to its final total from a round of severe storms on Dec. 28 and 29.

Here are the longest tornado tracks on record in Alabama. Yet to be added to the list is the Jan. 12, 2023, Old Kingston-Lake Martin tornado, with an updated track length of 82.31 miles.
