BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC) - For the 5th year in a row, the Hoover Lady Bucs are AHSAA state champions! The Lady Bucs took down Hillcrest Saturday in a tightly contested matchup 51-44.

Hoover girls basketball coach Krystle Johnson had to challenge her team at the half of Saturday’s Class 7A state championship game. After scoring 18 of the first 19 points, the Bucs scored one of the next 22 and trailed Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa 22-20 at the break.
