Californians with iPhones and Apple Watches will now be able to store digital versions of their driver's licenses and identification cards on their devices, state officials announced.

Apple announced that starting today, California residents can add their driver’s licenses and state IDs to Apple Wallet on their iPhones and Apple Watches as part of the state’s mobile driver’s license (mDL) pilot program.

Apple's home state has begun allowing its residents to add a state ID or driver's license to the Apple Wallet app.
