Daniel Penny, the Long Island native and Marine vet acquitted for the manslaughter of a homeless man on a New York City subway train last year, has landed a job at a $45 billion venture capital firm.

Marine veteran Daniel Penny, who was found not guilty in the death of Jordan Neely in a New York City subway, has a new job with Silicon Valley investment firm Andreessen Horowitz.

Penny was acquitted of criminally negligent homicide in the choking death of Jordan Neely. He will start work at Andreessen Horowitz.

Mr. Penny, who was acquitted after choking a mentally ill subway passenger to death, will work for Andreessen Horowitz. Before the killing, he had been an architecture student.

Penny, 26, was acquitted of criminally negligent homicide and manslaughter after his 2023 murder of Jordan Neely, 30, whom he forced him to the ground and held around the neck until Neely died on a subway ride.

Marc Andreessen backed the Republican ticket in the presidential election, and Vice President JD Vance cheered the news of the hire.

Penny will work as a deal partner on A16z's so-called American Dynamism investments, "founders and companies that support the national interest."
