Option 4: Recover from Temporary Files While you work, Word creates “.tmp” (temporary) files that you can manually search to find a copy of your unsaved document.
Here's how to use it: Step 1: Within Microsoft Word and after you open a new, blank document in it, select the File tab. Then choose the Info tab if it’s not already selected by default.
Before proceeding, first, update Microsoft Office or Word. Also, clear the temporary files to remove leftovers created using Word, and then open your Word document.
