There's a chance the Boston Celtics could be back at full strength when the Portland Trail Blazers come to town Wednesday night.

Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday gave an update on his injured hand Sunday afternoon. Prior to the team's tilt against the Denver Nuggets, Holiday shared he was just as surprised by the diagnosis as anyone else.

The Boston Celtics will be facing off against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday and they will be missing a few players. Boston has ruled out both star point guard Jrue Holiday and center Kristaps Porzingis for this game against Denver.

A new injury sidelined Jrue Holiday for the Celtics’ marquee matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The starting guard was ruled out for Friday’s game at TD Garden with a mallet finger injury on his right (shooting) hand. Boston also ruled out center Kristaps Porzingis (illness) for the second time in three games.

Jaylen Brown and Jrue Holiday are both listed as questionable against the Cavs, and it will be interesting to see if they can play in this primetime game. Holiday played in the Celtics' previous game against the Pistons but didn't shoot the ball well, finishing with four points and shooting 0-for-5 from three.

Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday has been out of the lineup for the past two games with a finger injury. Holiday suffered the injury last week in a game against the Detroit Pistons.

Since joining the Boston Celtics in the summer of 2023, Jrue Holiday has become a core part of Joe Mazzulla's rotation. The 34-year-old guard is an elite defender and connector on the offensive end.
