Chelsea great Didier Drogba has announced his retirement from football, ending a 20-year career that saw him win four Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2012.
Drogba went on to score 16 times that season, a reasonable start for his first season in English football. It was just the start of things to come.
As of late, Drogba appears to have shifted towards off-field projects, and he made history when joining Phoenix Rising by becoming the first-ever player-owner of a football club.
Drogba added: "Football can generate excitement and bring people together. I know we can do something good." He spent much of his early life in France and has been in England with Chelsea since 2004.
