Republican Jeff Hurd has won the U.S. House seat in Colorado that Rep. Lauren Boebert left. Hurd’s victory fulfills the congresswoman’s hope that her mid-election departure from the race would make it easier for a different Republican to retain the seat after she nearly lost it in 2022.

Republican Jeff Hurd defeated Democratic challenger Adam Frisch and will represent Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District in the House, succeeding Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) after she switched districts.

Hurd, a Grand Junction attorney, won by being “as exciting as a bread sandwich” after Lauren Boebert nearly lost the district for Republicans in 2022
