The Texas Longhorns' basketball team has had an up-and-down 2024-25 season. At this point in the year with March Madness right around the corner, they hold a 16-10 record and are very much in dangerous of missing the NCAA Tournament.

Texas Longhorn guard Tre Johnsons has continued to prove that he is one of the best scorers in the nation, and it seems that his electrifying play has earned him another accolade. Johnson was named the SEC Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week for an astounding fourth time,

The Longhorns (16-10, 5-8 SEC) trailed No. 18 Kentucky (17-8, 6-6) by five points with less than 6 minutes left in the game, but a banged-up Texas team reeled off a late 16-5 run to pull off a win and climb off the NCAA Tournament bubble — at least for a week.
