Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani and sports agent Nez Balelo are both named in a recent lawsuit spurred by allegations of a “calculated and unlawful scheme” that plaintiffs say resulted in them being unfairly pushed out of a multimillion-dollar Hawaii real estate project.

Just because Shohei Ohtani could be legally liable for the alleged terminations of two people associated with a luxury real estate project he endorsed, doesn't mean he was directly involved in their firings.

The agent was doing business on his behalf, so (Ohtani is) responsible for the agent ultimately,” the plaintiffs' lawyer told The Athletic.
