Ronnie Platt, the frontman for legendary rock band Kansas, shared an important update this week in his battle against cancer. Platt returned to social media on Thursday to let fans know how the meeting with his oncologist went.

The singer revealed his diagnosis in a Facebook post Saturday, telling fans that "this is just a bump in the road."

Ronnie Platt revealed to the world he is battling thyroid cancer. As a result of his treatment, Kansas has elected to cancel their two upcoming shows New Orleans and Lake Charles, La., citing “band illness and doctor advisement.” Platt will undergo surgery to remove his thyroid.
