Party has overturned Minneapolis party’s endorsement of state Sen. Omar Fateh (D), the democratic socialist challenging Mayor Jacob Frey (D), following allegations of a flawed process at the party’s convention last month.

State Democratic officials withdrew the endorsement of a Minneapolis mayoral candidate who has drawn comparisons to Zohran Mamdani, the New York mayoral hopeful.

The Minneapolis DFL’s endorsement of state Sen. Omar Fateh in the Minneapolis mayor’s race sparked numerous challenges. On Thursday, the state DFL party took the unprecedented step of revoking the local endorsement.
