This marks the second time the hit film will be adapted for television. In 1996, Rachel Blanchard starred in the short-lived ABC sitcom that followed Cher and her friends through high school. Silverstone was unable to reprise her role for the series, however, original actors Stacey Dash, Donald Faison, and Elisa Donovan also starred.
But when Silverstone visited to TODAY in 1995, when she was about 19 years old, she had no idea about the impact "Clueless" and Cher would have. During her chat on TODAY, Silverstone said she disagreed with the movie's title. She never saw Cher as clueless, even though her character did say some head-scratching things.
