Negley is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Middleton Township, Columbiana County, Ohio, United States. The population was 274 at the 2020 census. Negley is named after James S. Negley, a Civil War Major General who hailed from Pittsburgh. After the end of the war, Negley served in the United States House of Representatives in the late 19th century and later entered the railroad business. He was president of the New York, Pittsburgh & Chicago Railway, which in 1883 platted Negley as the first new town along its rail line, named in his honor. A Negley post office has been in operation since 1883.
